free the voice

Life is like an iceberg, it is seldom what it appears on the surface. Over 10 years ago Susan undertook a voyage, a voyage of self awareness, thanks to an illness which, as often happens, made it obvious to her that singing is not some abstract notion of a mechanical technique. We are not machines that push buttons (if you can find the buttons).

Our soul reveals itself in the material world through the body and the voice is it’s manifestation in sound. The body is it’s means of expression and communication. We must learn to understand this language to understand ourselves and free ourselves.

If our inner self is chained or burdened with tensions or negative emotions, the voice will not be able to sing freely.

Beginning the voyage with yoga breathing exercises and then increasing our physical and psychological awareness, Susan provides some keys to open our channel of expression and communication, which is our body and specifically, our voice.

In her search for vocal freedom Susan has become a CRANIAL SACRAL therapistthrough the John Upledger, MD. Institute of Cranial Sacral Therapy in Italy.

She has completed the courses of METAMEDICINE, a study of psychosomatic medicine and body language, with Claudia Rainville.

To continue her studies she is working on a Masters in music therapy at MUSIC SPACE in Bologna, Italy, which is a branch of the University of Bristol, England.

Besides her artistic career and research, she has been teaching vocal re-education for over 10 years both privately and in prestigious music schools in Rome.
